The Day of the Wedding...
how does it all work?

We felt this required a little more information as to how it works between Bliss Events as Stylists and the staff at your venue on the day of your Wedding. We know couples like to have a little reassurance - of course we are all well used to doing this and working in tandem. So allow us to take you backstage and show you how it works behind the scenes:

The Ceremony...

First up we need to get you married and to do that we need to arrive in plenty of time (usually with a coffee in hand!). Your venue will have everything all setup for our arrival according to what you have agreed with them. Such as the front rows / select seating which have been reserved, any confetti / tissues / newspapers etc on the chairs along with anything specific which you have requested. Any relevant signage, post box etc will be set out in the areas where guests will arrive to make it easier for everyone.

We will then work to making this space even more beautiful for you to say ‘I Do’ according to everything we have discussed. Your Registrars / Celebrant usually arrive about an hour before the Ceremony as do your guests. Any candles are either lit or on (if LED) prior to guests walking in so your photographer can snap away!

After we have setup and whilst you are getting married we tend to take a break and grab a coffee either at the venue if there is a place for us to hide or offsite. If we do leave we always liaise with your coordinator so they know when we will be back to do the turnaround with them.

The Reception...

After you are married we work to turning the room around and setting up for your Reception. This of course depends on if you are using the same room all day. Some venues have a partition which is removed, others have to make way for a full setup. If a different room is used or you are outdoors of course the same formalities apply. For example, we may need to remove the aisle runner or the clear plinths. We may need to relocate a backdrop / feature, you may have used some of the decor down the aisle for your tables - you get the idea.

The venue will set out your tables as per your seating plan and relocate the chairs. Usually they will set out your table stationary such as menus, place cards and items such as favours, activity packs etc. This forms part of getting ready for the serving element as they need to know where everyone is sitting. We work around the venue staff to dress the tables once everything is in position for you. The venue will usually set out any signage / relocate that and your postbox if / as required.

Most of the time you will be invited into the room before your guests for two reasons, one to check you are happy but secondly so your photographer can get those all important first look photos. Usually, we get to see you at this point which is why we love doing the turnarounds - this is one of our favourite moments in the day.
